Lily's Championship

We went to go see Lily's softball game on Saturday. Their first game was at 9:00. If they won that, they played another at 1:00. They won. Woohoo! Go Lily!
This is after the first game.
From left: Mother-in-law Jan, Niece Lily, Me, Pooch Isaac, Hubby Craig and Nephew Jack
We also got to see some of Jack's soccer game and they pwned the other team (Jack's word).
Some of the team
So, if they won the 1:00 game, they played the undefeated team at 3:00. They won. And then went on to BEAT the seasons UNDEFEATED team! W00t underdogs!
First Place!

Michele and her MVP
After 3 games in a row, she still has a smile.
And btw....what a phenomenal softball player Lily is. Her pitching was spot on and she was a champ at first base! That must be why she was voted the MVP! That's right!
"That was the most exciting ball game I've seen in a while," said Craig. I have to say I agree with him.

Things Hubby Introduced Me To

What a different person I'd be if I hadn't met my husband!

(Take a look at those pretty blues in this photo - ahem, and his picture trademark, the ridiculously false smile. You should see our wedding pictures! RME)

Check out the list of things he introduced me to; keeping in mind that these are things he had already experienced before he introduced them to me, not things we experienced for the first time together (yes, I was pretty sheltered):

Movies:

Casablanca, Heat, Swimming with Sharks, A Fish Called Wanda, Monty Python and the Holy Grail (I'm sure there's more but that's all I can think of right now)

Activities:
Snowboarding, Softball, and World of Warcraft (although that one didn't last very long, poor Flad)

Food:
Thai, Indian, Sushi (well, my bro first introduced me to it, but Craig really made me experience it) and Brie Cheese (I don't think he knows that one)

Places:
San Francisco, Mammoth, Las Vegas and Chicago

Life Changes:
Being his wife (okay - this one we experienced together, but I had to list it), being a homeowner, and most importantly...

being a BMW owner (lol).

I love you, honey!

"Hey guys, want to hear an interesting story about cole slaw?"
"Maybe we should go to the Mira Mesa theater, I bet they have a line!"
"Don't y'all want to see if there's anything after the credits"
"I'm so glad you made us stay in there, Amy!"
"I don't even know what S.H.I.E.L.D. is."

My Nieces and Nephew

My niece Leslie, "The Diva"

My Nephew Marco, "The Big Brother", with his dad, my twin, Aaron.

My Niece Mia, "The Sweetie".

The Finish Line

Yay - we made it to the finish line! Woohoo! It was a pretty long walk, it lasted like a whole, ummm, 12 minutes or so?

Walk for Doggies!

So, Isaac and I just finished the Humane Society walk with Dre and Kalia (rottweiler). Isaac is already asleep on the couch. :) Despite having a nasty cold, I had a great time.

It started off with Isaac being a big baby and crawling into my lap for the car ride, then he had some nervous pooping (right in the middle of the parking lot), which I happened to get on my finger because there was a hole in the bag (eeewww), Kalia barking at the fiddle player (I think she was saying "Stop playing that crap and turn on some Mariah Carey!"), and I guess Kalia got tired of the dog drool dripping down her face because she decided to slime my bare shoulder with it when I sat down.

Okay, so it doesn't sound like I had fun, but trust me, all of these incidents led to a giggle fest with myself and Dre. Dre even cleaned Kalia's dog drool off my shoulder...uhh...which she the wiped it on my shirt. Hmmm, good looking out, I guess, Dre?

It was chaos, dogs everywhere but they were all very well behaved (with the exception of one who didn't seem to like Kalia). We saw a couple other Aussie's but it took us a while to find another Rottie.

And Isaac got his very first matching collar and leash! He seems pretty stoked about it. Of course, it's not the Coach collar that he's had his eye on for a while, but it'll do.

My Barratt Peeps

Me, Jennifer, Hilary, and Kelly.

Okay, so I don't have any pictures of them yet, but I will soon. Beware the camera at the next dinner, guys! :) I'll take the picture before we eat so we know that we won't have food in our teeth. And we'll make sure Hilary leaves her sunglasses on, Kelly won't have a floating head, and Jen won't wear red. :D

More on Pipe Installation

Ummm...weird, all I smell when I take a shower now is METAL. Apparently that's normal and it goes away after a few weeks - but, is that healthy??? Kinda freaky...

Our trip to Chicago

World's Largest Beers.
This is Marc...He's fun.

And quite the dancer.

Blogging

So, I told a friend of mine and hubby's that I had started a blog. When I said that it's still coming along, he compared blogging to tending a garden...it takes a lot of work to get it to blossom. How funny, I had no idea how right he was! I think I've changed the layout, format, pictures, and words at least 10 times (I've only had my blog for about 5 days now).

Shout Out

A big shout out to the people who contributed to my Humane Society fund raising efforts. I had to raise my goal because your contributions exceeded my original one:

Mom; Mikey and Craig; Matt, Andrea, Tony, Kalia and Madison; The Gristina Family; The Kennerly Family; Heather; Jinx; Christina, Miguel, Carlos, Alexis, et al; Kevin, Megan, Del, Fish, Flea, and Flo; Obie

Thanks so much for your help!

My time with BA

So, here's a quick synopsis of my short time with Barratt:
First day, meet Ashley. 3rd day, Ashley has a baby and leaves me for a few months. I get Jen set up with Gmail chat. I get to talk to Kelly twice before she leaves (but fortunately I'm cool enough to go to dinner every month - Yay!!!). We have our Christmas party. Lots of people get layed off. Ashley comes back. Hilary gives me my new name badge and I lose it 5 minutes later. More people get let go. We have to clean models and water the plants now. More people get let go (including Hilary - good day for her, sad day for us) and I get "Not Technically" layed off. I find a new job. :D

Our name

Why is it when people ask me how I pronounce my last name I say "Byu-cha-lye" and they say "BOO-cha-lye"?

How Nikki got her name

The first time I held Nikki, she fell asleep with one eye open. It reminded me of a spy, very cautious - like she didn't quite trust me. Although I've never actually seen the show, I could only think of La Femme Nikkita - so Nikkita she became.

My mother-in-law is the best!

So, a couple of weeks ago hubby and I went out to dinner with my Mother-in-Law. I called her a Bitch and she called me a Whore. Good times. (I love you Jan!)

My grandmpa, again!

My grandmpa, again!
Okay, so I lied - I have another one! I think my Uncle Lance snagged a shot of him at his last birthday. We had a wonderful dinner at a small steakhouse in Hotel Circle called Albie's, the company was better. It was a large, fun group: Lisa, Lance, Aaron, Rosa, Jo-Jean, Maxine, Craig, Kristen, and of course the guest of honor, Neal. We reminisced, laughed, ate some good food, had some wine of which grandma kept the cork (one of her many ways of keeping memories), and then laughed some more. Wish Kevin could have been there! I'm sure he feels the same way, from what I understand he didn't have a very good time that night but that's a different story. But I guess that's what happens when you miss grandpa's birthday! Hope he learned his lesson!
